These 5 items are sure to take your wedding invitations to the next level, giving them a personal flair that is uniquely you!

Starting to think about invitations for your upcoming wedding? I'm sharing some of my most popular embellishments for invitation suites, all of which you can add on to your very own invitations!
1. Envelope Liner
One of the most versatile embellishments for your main envelope is the envelope liner. Liners are available in a wide variety of customizable choices, including both solid colors and full designs. If you have a specific monogram or icon that you're using for your wedding day, this can be a beautiful place to include that emblem. Simply have your monogram or icon printed on the top of the liner, so that when guest open the flap, your wedding icon is the first thing they notice. Envelope liners can also be a great way to tie in a central color from your color scheme. If dusty blue is your wedding color of choice, match your envelope liner to that color to give a cohesive, unified feel to your invitation suite.
2. Wax Seal
By far my favorite embellishments of all, wax seals add such an air of timeless romance. They are and will forever be so classy! A must-have if you describe your style as 'elegant and timeless.' Wax seals can also offer a great deal of versatility. My favorite customization to wax seals is to tie in a flower from the wedding floral-scape into the seal. Most any and all flowers are available on seals, so from baby's breath to eucalyptus, you're sure to find something that fits your style. Or, customize your wax seal to include you and your fiancee's initials for a meaningful, personal touch.
3. Vellum Overlay
Adding a sheet of vellum or tissue over an invitation originated as a practical way to protect paper with luxury printing methods like letterpress or foil printing. Since letterpress and foil printing both create indentions in the thick invitation paper (and foil printing actually adds metallic bits into the indentions), it's wise to protect the printed text with an extra layer so that nothing gets scratched or flattened in transit. Now, vellum can even be customized, so that it serves both a practical and aesthetic purpose. Add a beautiful line drawing of one your flowers to the vellum overlay for a romantic, whimsical touch to your invitation suite.
4. Belly Band
Belly bands are a classic and effective way to bind all of your invitation suite elements together. They serve a large utility in making sure no element is forgotten in the envelope, or falls out when your guests open your invitation suite. So if you have three or more elements packaged within your main envelope, this is a must-have! Since belly bands are simple, slender pieces of paper folded around the invitation set, they are relatively cost-effective and can be customized in any way. Add a watercolor design, monogram, or fun pattern to a belly band to give it that 'uniquely you' feel.
5. Vintage Postage
Did you know it's possible to source vintage postage stamp designs? Many brides are unaware of this going in to the custom invitation process, and it's such a fun touch to add to a personalized invitation suite. Your wedding stationer can find a variety of vintage postage stamps that speak to your unique style. Anything from beachfront images to floral wreaths to iconic landmarks. Since the front of the envelope is the first thing guests see when they receive your invitation in the mail, vintage postage gives you a uniquely eye-catching touch to an otherwise standard envelope.
I hope these suggestions give you some ideas on how to take your invitations to the next level!
